A secure sixteen-room home in Hillcrest, dedicated to caring for people living with dementia. With nursing staff on site around the clock, home-cooked meals, peaceful gardens and a safe, thoughtfully designed environment where residents can feel comfortable and at home.

When Home Is No Longer Safe
Wandering at night, the stove left on, a fall that nobody was there to see. There is usually a point where staying at home stops being the kind option, and most families know it a while before they say it out loud.
When One Person Cannot Carry It Alone
Caring for someone with dementia at home is relentless, and it is usually one person doing most of it. Moving someone here is not giving up on them. It is making sure there is enough of you left to visit properly.
Every Resident Lives With Dementia
This is not a general retirement home with a dementia wing. All sixteen rooms are for people living with dementia, so the staff, the routine and the building are built around one thing instead of split between several.
What a Day Here Looks Like
Mornings follow a familiar routine, with residents assisted with bathing, dressing and personal care according to their individual needs, before gathering in the dining hall for breakfast.
Throughout the day, residents are encouraged to take part in activities such as games, puzzles, baking, music and gentle exercise. Participation is always encouraged but never forced — some residents are just as happy watching and enjoying the company around them.
Lunch is freshly prepared in our kitchen, followed by a quieter afternoon. Residents may relax in one of our lounges, spend time in the gardens, enjoy some television or rest in their rooms.
Nursing staff are on site day and night to oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to their care needs around the clock.

The safety of our residents is a priority. Secure access control and carefully monitored entrances and exits provide families with peace of mind, knowing their loved one is cared for in a safe and protected environment.
Controlled Access
Secure, controlled access helps ensure the safety of our residents while allowing authorised staff, families and visitors to enter and leave safely.
24-Hour Security Monitoring
CCTV cameras throughout the Home provide added safety and security, with external surveillance monitored around the clock by Blue Response.
Secure Parking
Safe, secure off-street parking is available within the property for families and visitors.
Private Family Areas
Comfortable, private spaces are available for families to spend quiet, uninterrupted time with their loved ones.
Senior Day Care Centre
A welcoming space for companionship, activities and social interaction, enjoyed by our residents and also open to seniors who are still living at home.
Home Cooked Meals
Our dedicated kitchen team prepares fresh meals on site each day, with individual dietary requirements catered for where needed. We also grow a selection of our own vegetables and salad ingredients in our garden for use in our kitchen.
Beautiful Gardens
Our gardens are carefully maintained to provide residents with peaceful, inviting outdoor spaces where they can relax, enjoy the fresh air and spend time with family.
Entertainment & Relaxation
Large-screen Smart TVs in our communal areas allow residents to enjoy films, favourite programmes, sport and music together in comfort.
Meet Cody & Angel
Our much-loved resident rescue dogs, Cody and Angel, are brother and sister and very much part of the Home Angels family. They bring companionship, affection and plenty of smiles to our residents every day.

Where is it?
17 Shortlands Avenue, Hillcrest. The entrance is on Northern Avenue, near Hillcrest High.
What does it cost?
Costs depend on the hours, so we provide each family with an individual quote. Tell us a little about your loved one and their care needs, or simply give us a call if you prefer to talk it through. We’ll provide a clear quote at no charge and with no obligation.
Can we come and see it first?
Absolutely — we encourage it. Photographs can only show you so much, and we believe it’s important to experience the atmosphere of the Home, meet our team and see how our residents are cared for. Contact us to arrange a visit — we’d be delighted to show you around.
Is transport available?
We do not currently provide transport. Families are responsible for arranging transport to and from Home Angels.
What about special diets?
Meals are freshly prepared in our kitchen each day, and we cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified diets where needed. Simply let us know about any specific requirements when you enquire.
Do you offer respite care?
Yes. We offer short-term respite care, subject to room availability, whether a family caregiver needs a well-earned break, is going away, or simply needs additional support for a period of time. Contact us to discuss your needs and availability.
Come and See It
Bring your parent if that helps, or come on your own first, plenty of families prefer to look around before they mention it at home. Either is fine, and there is no charge.
